Carillon Women's Chorale of Ypsilanti was pleased to extend a warm hand of friendship and welcome to women of Lenawee and Monroe Counties for our 2011 Holiday concert! Both groups of singers prepared the same literature and joined forces for one or two rehearsals, performing together at Emmanuel United Methodist Church (Blissfield) and Emmanuel Lutheran Church (Ypsilanti) on two consecutive evenings. Lenawee County women will, once again, be invited to join forces for the 2012 Spring Concert with the John Tyner Chorale in Monroe. That date will be announced at a later time. So let the word spread inviting excellent singers from all walks of life in Southeast Michigan to consider this choral music opportunity away from the bustle of our daily lives! High school singers with a sound vocal technique/intonation and a positive recommendation from a professional music teacher are certainly to audition as well! Instrumentalists with an appreciation for singing beautiful literature and are most certainly encouraged to audition! There is truly something very special in women coming together to explore the abundance of beautiful choral literature composed specifically for women's voices.
